Welcome to the discipleship section of my website. These pages reflect my passion for spurring others on towards growth and godliness. I'd like to share with you, some of the things I have learned in my years of discipling. My hope and prayer is that it will equip and encourage you as a discipler.

When I think of the Christian life, I think of walking through a large field of weeds overgrown so high I can't see over them. I am supposed to walk from one side of the field to the other, but I can't see where I am going. I get lost, I trip and fall, I get stickers in my socks and there is no hope of making it accross without someone to help me find my way.

Thankfully, Jesus has shown us the way. When he lived his life here on earth, he forged a path through those weeds. He showed us where to go and how to live. We may still trip a bit and collect a few stickers along the way, but if we continually follow his path we will alsways know where to go.

I live in the Northwest where many significant paths were forged. There are many historical markers identifying where Lewis and Clark traveled and camped and I live just miles away from the official end of the Oregon Trail. I also know there are places along the Oregon Trail where wagon wheel ruts can still be seen. So many people traveled that path to come to the West that you can still see the wagon wheel ruts in the ground. A path made by one person through a field or through life's weeds is not as visible as a path that has been walked by many people.

I am not the first generation to follow the path Jesus forged through the weeds. Many others have followed before me, making that path easier to see and easier to follow. As I learn from their failures and successes, as I observe their Christlike character and seek their wisdom and advice, I find myself better equipped to follow Jesus.

I too, can impact the way other people follow Jesus. By following Him myself, I make His path a little clearer for others... this is discipleship!

My goal then, is to allow others to follow in my footsteps as I follow Jesus' footsteps. It is really Jesus' path they are following, but walking behind me makes it all the easier to follow. Follow me following Jesus!
